Tiny Tots Football caters for the budding little footballers and is focused on a series of fun group activities and non-competitive short games. Our Tiny Tots program has been running for many years now and continues to be one of the success stories of the club. Tiny Tots Football is meant for under 5 year olds. There is no minimum age but the child would have to be able to follow instructions and if you (the parent) feel they can participate safely in a group of Under 5s, we are happy for them to participate. This year the total cost will be $60 and includes 10 x1 hour sessions, insurance coverage plus loads of giveaways. Great value for $60. All the sessions will take place at Sutton Park Brassall from 6pm on Friday evenings (weather permitting). The sign on date for the Tiny Tots is 14th May. Sign on will start at 5pm and the first session will begin around 6pm. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or Eftpos at the club. |

On Friday 6th Feb 2009, our canteen suffered extensive fire damage due to a problem with a fryer. We had about 200 hundred spectators at the club when the fire broke out watching the QT Cup. Luckily no one was hurt and once the fire was out, the club executive decided to continue on with first round of the scheduled competition. The Suncorp team got stuck in and worked side by side with club members to reorganize a make shift canteen and bar. The Suncorp team offered both physical and moral support late into the night. The next day (Saturday) Suncorp were back bright and early to run a sausage sizzle and assist with the club sign-on day by handing out giveaways to our members. After the sign on had finished they reorganized, restocked and setup for a huge evening. As the canteen was unusable, Dot and Mel rallied the Suncorp team to provide a full canteen service for several hundred spectators who would attend the QT Cup finals. They worked like Trojans under difficult conditions for hours, and always with a smile and a willingness to help in anyway they could. The Suncorp sponsorship is worth more than money to us. We have, in Dot and Mel two people who have an unswerving desire to help our club. The amount of hours these two ladies put in for us is truly amazing. Our club feels very lucky to have people of the caliber of Dot and Mel to assist us. Ipswich City Football Club would like to officially thank Dot, Mel and everyone at Suncorp for ongoing sponsorship and support of our club. |

In 2008, FFA in conjunction with Member Federations, Zones Associations and Clubs will be rolling out Small-Sided Games (SSG). This rollout will be staged commencing primarily with the younger age groups moving through the ages in 2009 and beyond. SSG have been extremely well received and supported by Member Federations, Zones, Associations and Clubs. The feedback for the smaller fields and reduced playing numbers with an emphasis on player development has been very positive, Clubs and parents see the end result that by touching the ball more the children will become better players and enjoy their football experience much more. The education of this message remains the main priority and early suggestions are proving that the rollout will be very successful both in 2008 and the over the next few years to complete the implementation of SSG through ages 6 12. |

The Ipswich City Football Club would like to encourage all coaches, players, unofficial referees, spectators and guests to abide by the clubs Code Of Conduct during games at all levels. Unfortunately too often, teammates, parents, spectators and coaches dont realise that their negative actions, verbal or nonverbal, can have a lasting effect on players. It is therefore essential for parents, coaches, officials, and even teammates to encourage those mentioned to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. There is, of course, no better way to achieve this than by leading by example and demonstrating fairness, respect and self control at all times. The club has had a Code of Conduct in place for many years and this is used to clarify and distinguish approved and accepted professional, ethical, and moral behaviour from that which is detrimental to the development of the sport. The Ipswich City Football Club encourages all coaches, players, referees, spectators, parents and guests to read and comply with the code of conduct at all times. |
